Not really...

I didn't finish the book yet, I have a midterm tomorrow and lots of fairy tales to read by then so I'm just posted a general observation right now.

I'm up to the 4th or 5th chapter, and I realized that although this book is given a negative connotation, especially by the mouse in a prison cell on the cover, it's not completely.

I mean, it is. But the fact is it's not representing the Disney College Program as a hole. There are snippets of quotes from alumni's expressing SOME bad or ODD experiences whilst they were in the program. Or just short stories of things that went wrong, or were strange occurrences. Things/events that have happened to, probably 2% of the people who've done the program.

And I can see where he's coming from. Some people who don't appreciate Disney for what it is will come into the program with this mindset. Why they're doing the program at all baffles me, but it happens.

It's just another way of looking at it....and very PESSIMISTIC way, but another way.

Again, the stories from this book are most likely from a small percentage of the same people telling their horror stories, which probably don't happen to 90% of participants.

More Disney books!!

Hey guys, so I picked up two more Disney related books last week! With a generous Barnes and Noble gift card(early xmas gift!).

Disney War, James B. Stewart

This is an almost 600 page book. It seems extremely daunting at first, I wasn't even going to get it! But I thought, why the heck not, and I'm SO happy I decided to.

I'm about 100 pages in, and it's amazing. It's mostly about the rise (and fall) of the Eisner era. There's a lot of history and background, so if you don't like that kind of stuff then I wouldn't pick this baby up.

But if you're a Disney history freak like I am, it's great. All the greats are here, and the backgrounds of the popular Eisner Era films are shown. The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and The Beast, etc.

It's gonna take a bit to finish, but so far it's really great. Hopefully I'll be finished in the next few weeks and will get a full review up. :)

Mousecatraz, Wesley Jones

Funny story, I ordered this book online and I kept getting emails about how it was going to take longer than expected and they asked if I wanted to cancel the order. So I was like "whatever" and did. An hour later, I got the shipment confirmation.

Then, I found out it was delivered to my house on the 16th....3 days ago. I wrote a note and was going to stick it on my front door of my apartment building asking the person who picked it up to return it to me. Then I saw it was sitting under a pile of tile boxes used to re-do the hallway. Nice.

I haven't started this one yet, but it's rather short so I can probably finish it tomorrow if I start tonight. I've heard...mixed reviews. I'll probably have a full review of it up in the next week.

I still want to do a full review of Reality land! I have to say Mouse Tales was my favorite I've read so far, Reality Land is definitely number 2.

Realityland

Hey guys! So I bought a new Disney book yesterday, Realityland: True-Life Adventures at Walt Disney World by David Koenig(I seriously want to meet this guy). I love it!

I'm only on page 59, but basically it starts explaining the beginnings of WDW and EPCOT. Before and after Walt's death. Planning, buying land, legislative changes, etc. It will probably go into the parks themselves in a few more chapters. Because this book is only available in hardcover, it's a but pricey(It was $27 but I'm a B&N member so it took about $5 off), but it's totally worth it. I've seen it online for about $18 on Amazon and I TOTALLY suggest picking it up. Especially as a current/past/future CPer.

One question I have for you guys, where can I pick up/order Mousecatraz?? There has to be a site, that I think I found awhile ago but lost, to order it. I know it's basically complete BS, but for interest reasons I want to check it out. Sooooo if someone could post a link I'd be forever grateful! :)

Preferably, I'd like to get a cheap used copy...lmfao.

Wasn't feeling well this morning so I called out of work. :( A wave of nausea hit me. It's gone now though, and I should really start on my History paper.

My Koenig book came!!!! Finallyyyy!!!!!

It's so amazing. I'm only up to page 44, but I can't stop!!!!!!! I will be making another vlog soon, maybe tomorrow night or tonight. Sans-special guests. But next Wednesday I promise!! GUESTS. YES.

I'm going to see Paranormal Activity now, hope it isn't too scary! Ahh! I love horror movies though so who am I kidding?

BOOKS!

So I went to B&N today and picked up this book: I hate that in photobooth it doesn't flip the damn photo!

Oh well, it's The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World by Susan Veness! Abby, another Fall 2010 hopeful(unless she does amazing at her audition coming up!!!! Yayyy! Hope you do!!!) recommended it! It's pretty good so far!

My Koenig book should come tomorrow(I forgot today was a holiday :( )! I should be finished with this one by then. Yes, I am doing some major highlighting. I plan on grabbing a Hidden Mickey WDW book too so when we get down there we can do the WHOLE thing! :DDDD Loves it.

Okay day today. Got three hours of sleep last night, so I'm heading in early now!
